In recent times, Ranveer Singh has faced a great backlash from the people online because they believe that he has shown disrespectful behaviour towards the Gods that were depicted in the movie named “Kantara Chapter 1“. And somehow, Box Office Analyst assumed that because of this controversy, the movie, “Dhurandhar” might not perform in theatres.

The movie contains a great storyline, well-made direction, and good world-building. And even if the story is set in an imaginary fictional world, it takes some liberty or uses some real event moments as an inspiration so that viewers can connect to it and feel some emotions. The theme of the movie is all about exploring the mafia/terrorism community working under Pakistan and the insights into it. It explores and provides a fictional scenario of how the terrorism movement works and how terrorists plan and execute their missions with a creative liberty of true events. Dhurandhar movie also shows the internal politics between the terrorist organisations, ISI (Inter-Services Intelligence, Pakistan), police officers and politicians of Pakistan. It shows how well planned the movie is by showing the bonding and internal conflicts of the organisations, creating favourable moments yet obstacles amongst themselves according to the situations.

The movie was inspired by characters based on real people, some of whom are still alive and others who are deceased. Although these characters are inspired by true living people, to make the movie a little bit interesting, director Aditya Dhar took a decision to make their story fictional, because obviously this movie was not meant to be a documentary. The casting of the actors who played these characters was done really well. They took their characters seriously and played them in a professional way. Therefore, their work and efforts do deliver perfectly on the big screen, and the audience gets connected to them as well. The makeup artist Preetisheel Singh has done an incredible job of creating the characters’ looks as close to reality as possible, which makes them more authentic.
4. Importance of the song “Sher-e-Baloch” for the movie
The character named Rehman Dakait, played by Akshaye Khanna, has written and played so well that people got really invested in it. And his dance sequence in the song named “Sher-e-Baloch” got so viral that people enjoyed the aura farming nature of his character, which eventually helped the movie to be a talk of the month. We saw a big trend of recreating the video song from the influencers and creators across all social media platforms through the medium of reels or shorts, which also helped the movie get more audience through word of mouth.
5. Value provided by Ranveer Singh’s fictional character
Ranveer Singh‘s role for Hamza Ali Mazari is a fictional character who is an undercover agent sent by India with an operation named “Dhurandhar” whose purpose was to infiltrate the terrorist organisations in Pakistan. As the character is set to be a spy, the role of Ranveer Singh is very less used. Despite being a lead role in the movie, his screen time was very limited, which eventually didn’t trigger the controversy that Ranveer Singh had related to Kantara: Chapter 1 movie, just before his movie release. Although the Actors called to be Superstars (for example, 3 Khans) might not opt for these kinds of roles, cause their fans might not like the least screen time of their favourite actor, and it might also affect their fandom. But Ranveer Singh didn’t bother that and took his role very maturely. But the importance of his character comes around when the movie reveals his actual name Jaskirat Singh Rangi, which was also used in the movie Uri: The Surgical Strike. Therefore, the audience is speculating some connections between the two movies, which might be established in Part 2 of the movie itself.
6. Interesting Facts related to the Making of Dhurandhar
At first, Dhurandhar movie was about to be created for about 7 hours duration. But it might not be possible to release a movie this long in theatres because there will be fewer showplaces in theatres, which will affect the revenue of the day, and people might not have the patience to watch a movie this long. And in the near future, it was planned to release the movie in a web series format. But because the quality of the production and expenses used in it and the output of the movie were so stunning and planned for the theatre experience, it might not justify if people watch this movie on their small TV screen through an OTT subscription. Because the Directors’ vision was to make a movie for the Big Screen. Therefore, they made it to the conclusion that they will divide the movie into two parts, make some optimisation, and release it in theatres at different times chronologically. While watching the movie, we can encounter the chapters shown in it, which signifies that the movie was planned to be a web series, and at the start of the movie, in the producer’s introduction, the OTT partner was assigned to Netflix itself.
